Law Enforcement
After working for over thirty years in the court system Senator
Snow has worked with law enforcement agents at all levels. He
understands the need for effective law enforcement and giving
officers the tools they need to fight crime.
Meth
During the last election cycle Senator Snow promised to fight
the meth problem in North Carolina. Because of his work
in the legislature
there are 69 percent less meth labs in North Carolina
than in May 2005. Senator Snow’s work is paying off with real
and tangible results for both our communities and law
enforcement. While phenomenal
progress has been made with regard to stopping the meth
epidemic in the mountains - more work needs to be done. Senator Snow
will
continue to work with law enforcement to give them the
tools they need to crack down on this drug and all of the social
ills that
come along with it.
ID Theft
One of the most common crimes is that of identity theft. After
it was reviled that nearly 25.6 million Veterans, Active Duty,
Reserves, and Guard members personal identification information
had been stolen from the Veterans Affairs Administration. Senator
Snow led the way in the Senate to pass a bill that would make it
easier and cheaper for our veterans and other military member to
check their credit report and see if there was any false activity
on their credit report. His commitment to ensuring fair reporting
is creating a safer past and present for all consumers in North
Carolina.
Death Benefit for Part Time Law Enforcement
Senator Snow worked to extend death benefits to those in law enforcement,
fire fighting, and other first responders who work part time but
giver their life in keeping the public good. The people who respond
and work for us in the works of times deserve the same respect
and response that we give to all public servants who giver their
life in the line of duty.
Memorial Day
With more and more schools holding class on Memorial Day Senator
Snow introduced legislation that requires the North Carolina
State Board of Education to develop programs to teach schoolchildren
about the significance and the sacrifice that is remembered on
Memorial Day.
